There are three main issues with the environment in the Bay of Kotor. Most of them caused by the humans living there. Since they just dealt with a civil war a couple of years ago, a lot of the damage on the environment came from that.
Water Shortage- Due to the levels of salinity in the water, the water in Montenegro was declared undrinkable, this leads to fresh water shortages for everyone. Mainly near the coast.
Littering- Restaurants in this area have a habit to throw their garbage into the river instead of disposing of them properly, train employees also do this. This creates high pollution levels on the coast and all around, in general.
Energy- Montenegro imports 40% of their energy from different countries. In order to solve this issue the country decided to use hydro projects to import energy, but this requires the flooding of canyons and destroying potential nuclear energy.
